Our curriculum and ethos is underpinned by Mytham Values. We aim for our pupils to be Mytham STARS; Successful, Thoughtful, Ambitious, Responsible and Strong in Mind, Strong in Body and Strong Together. You will see – and feel – that Mytham offers children more than just academic achievement. We also focus on looking after their emotional health and wellbeing. Mytham pupils have opportunities to help others, be creative, understand their feelings and reflect on values. We promote equality and tolerance and respect for their environment and community.
Mytham staff want every child to be the best they can possibly be. ‘They are ‘aspirational for the school and pupils’. Staff and Governors are committed to providing a broad, balanced and creative curriculum full of inspirational topics in a vibrant setting.
Everyone, pupils, staff and Governors, work hard here at Mytham. We are constantly developing our provision. Currently we are working towards Artsmark: An award for excellence in the Arts. In addition, we have a whole school focus on Children’s Emotional health and Wellbeing. We have lots of fun too and there is always something being planned!
We recently added ‘Mytham Little Stars Nursery’ to our school family. Now children from 2 years old can experience everything Mytham has to offer! (See our nursery page)
Staff and our committed Governors are very proud that Ofsted recognised that ‘Safeguarding is a true strength of the school’ (Ofsted July 2107)
Ofsted reported that ‘Parents value the work of leaders and teachers and said that they are willing to go the extra mile’. Friends of Mytham (PTA) offer events and fundraisers. We also have a weekly ‘Chat and Play’ coffee morning and a half termly Parent Forum. Plenty for parents to get involved with!
We also manage the Little Lever Centre…an amazing community facility, with huge potential, for Little Lever residents.
Please take time to browse our website and see how motivated our pupils are about their learning. You will find statutory information from Ofsted, other informative documents such as school policies, the prospectus and our procedures.
Follow us on our Twitter feed ‘Mytham’s Magical Moments’ or read our ‘Mytham Messenger’ newsletters, they both offer insights into what we are doing, how we celebrate success and share information with our parents.
We are always very happy to show prospective parents and pupils around school and nursery. Please contact the school office on 01204 333556 to arrange an appointment.
I am very proud to lead this thriving school and hope that you and your child will play a part in our continued success.
